Chris Eubank Jr. signed a fan’s bizarre possession on night out

Chris Eubank Jr. is set to face Conor Benn next in a legacy-continuing fight after their fathers’ two encounters.

Chris Eubank Jr. will fight Conor Benn later this month at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a bid to move to 2-0 in the Eubank Benn feud.

Chris Eubank Sr. defeated Nigel Benn in 1990, but the pair fought to a draw in their rematch. Eubank almost asked Benn to let him win, he revealed in a recent video.

In the build-up to the fight, Eubank Jr. smashed an egg on Benn‘s head, but this isn’t the only bizarre interaction the Brit has had.

Chris Eubank Jr. signs a fan’s microwave on night on the town

Ahead of his fight with Wanik Awdijan in Newcastle in 2021, Eubank Jr. encountered a host of fans who asked him to sign their hands or other possessions, with others asking for pictures with the star.

One, however, took things a step further when he asked Eubank to sign his microwave.

Eubank spoke to talkSport on the interaction: “You know just as much as I do. I was checking into the hotel, I was signing some autographs and taking pictures with some people out in Newcastle late last night and some kid bopped over out the blue by himself armed with a microwave.”

He continued: “Just so many questions running through my head. Where did you get it from? Where are you going? […] The kid was a soldier in my opinion and good luck to him.”

Chris Eubank Jr.’s post-fight interview almost turned into a brawl

Back in 2018, Eubank Jr. fought JJ McDonagh, A 16-4 Irish boxer, in Saudi Arabia.

Eubank, who was fined 100K for the egg attack, won the fight by third-round stoppage, but it seemed McDonagh wanted to continue fighting as a brawl almost erupted after Eubank’s post-fight interview.

In the interview Eubank alleged McDonagh quit, which the Irishman said was due to an injured shoulder preventing him from boxing to his true ability: “From there on he was going to destroy me wasn’t he? No point holding up for a beating.”

Eubank’s response irritated McDonagh: “We’re fighters. Your shoulder’s bad I understand, but you gotta pull through these things. That’s the only way you’re gonna make it in the game.”

McDonagh challenged Eubank’s view, but the Brit responded again: “In my second professional fight I fought with one arm the entire fight.”

Tensions rose and the angry McDonagh said: “I’m not one bit afraid of you. […] I’ll have a straightener now with one hand.” The pair were broken up after that.

Eubank has lost three times in his career, to George Groves, Billy Joe Saunders, and Liam Smith, though he avenged this loss.
