Chris Eubank Jr.’s dad begged him to stop beating up heavyweight in sparring

Chris Eubank Jr. will face Conor Benn this evening in one of Britain’s biggest domestic fights for years.

Chris Eubank Jr. has just made weight in his second weigh-in, this time landing at 169.4lbs, within the 170lbs rehydration limit. Eubank is to be fined $500k after missing weight in the original weigh in by just 0.05lbs.

Eubank Jr. seemed especially tight at the weight, and Josh Taylor feared for Eubank’s health over it, though it seems the fight is set to go ahead, and Eubank Jr. now has the rest of the day to rehydrate.

Though he might not be as big as he could’ve been without the rehydration clause, Eubank is sure to come in far bigger than Conor Benn, and his size, and strength could pose significant problems for his rival, as they did for one heavyweight sparring partner.

“Junior, stop it!”… Chris Eubank shouts as Eubank Jr. beats on unknown heavyweight

In a clip shared to X by Boxraw, Eubank Jr. can be seen teeing off on an unknown heavyweight. The sparring partner is far bigger and taller than Eubank, yet is receiving a brutal amount of punishment from the smaller man.

Eubank Jr.’s onslaught is so damaging that his father, Chris Eubank Sr., calls out to him before the round is over, telling him to stop punishing his partner so much.

It is unclear when the footage was taken, or who the heavyweight is, but given Eubank Sr. is involved, it must be more than a few years old, as Eubank Jr. claims to have not spoken to his father for years now.

“Different animal”… Fans react to Chris Eubank Jr.’s heavyweight sparring

Though some were impressed by the footage, with one suggesting: “Chris Eubank Jr. was a different animal when training under Chris Eubank Sr.”

Others were not as impressed with the caliber of Eubank’s opponent. One fan asked in the replies for the identity of the sparring partner, to which another replied: “His first name is Punching last name Bag lol”

One fan implored Eubank, who almost fought Gennady Golovkin in 2016, to use the same aggression and combination punching in his fight tomorrow as he did in the spar: “I want to see that 4-5 uppercut combo tomorrow. Bring it back.”

Chris Billam-Smith predicts Eubank will be too big for Benn, though we can only find out tonight as Benn and Eubank face off in front of 65,000 fans in London.
