Chris Eubank is one of British boxing’s biggest characters. Even in his post-fighting days, he continues to be an influential figure in the sport.
Few men in boxing are as well-spoken as ‘Simply the Best.’ The former world champion has accumulated plenty of fans, from his thrilling fight series with Nigel Benn to his unique personality.
Despite Eubank’s relationship with his son having fractures, the former champion will likely keep a close eye on Chris Eubank Jr.’s grudge match with Conor Benn.
The fierce rivals will meet on April 26th, 2025 as the two will continue on their father’s rivalry. However, Eubank Sr.’s opinion on Benn may surprise a few.

Chris Eubank full of praise for Conor Benn despite rivalry with his son
Although people may expect Chris Eubank Sr. to share a similar opinion to his son when it comes to Conor Benn, this is not the case.
Speaking on Up Front with Simon Jordan in late 2023, Eubank gave his honest opinion on Benn.
“He beats them all,” Eubank said in reference to Benn competing in the middleweight division. “That’s how fantastic I think he is.”
“I’ve always backed that young man.” Eubank then looked into the camera and said, “I’ve always backed you Conor. You’re sensible”
The former world champion would go on to say that he didn’t mind if Benn had said uncomplimentary things about him in the past. Eubank added that Benn could trust him and that he would not mislead him.
Conor Benn hopes that Chris Eubank Jr. rekindles relationship with his father
Although the two men have had a fiery build-up to their highly-anticipated bout, which included Eubank Jr. slapping Benn with an egg, ‘The Destroyer’ did tell his foe that he hopes he can rekindle his relationship with his father.
As the two men appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Benn said, “It’s sad to see, because, we are here, whether we like it or not, because of our dads… So it’s sad to see that the relationship isn’t working on their [Eubank and his son’s] end. Genuinely, and I mean that. It’s sad to see.”
“It would be great to see you and your dad in your corner.”
Eubank Jr. was skeptical of the comments from his foe, seemingly unsure if Benn was being sincere. “I take everything he’s saying with a grain of salt.”
