Canelo retired disrespectful showboater set to make appearance at Chris Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn grudge match

Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn will share the ring in a matter of hours in front of 65,000 fans in London.

Chris Eubank Jr. fights for family honor tonight as he faces Conor Benn in Tottenham, London.

There have been rumors that the winner may potentially get a shot at Canelo Alvarez after he faces William Scull, who Benn sparred, in May and Terence Crawford later in the year.

Though one man who has already faced Canelo will be in attendance at tonight’s fight, and there’s no question who he’s supporting.

Billy Joe Saunders will support Conor Benn after being retired by Canelo Alvarez

Billy Joe Saunders, who threw chicken at Deontay Wilder, faced Canelo back in 2021, and became victim to the penultimate KO loss in Canelo’s career to date.

Canelo defeated Saunders, who gave a good account of himself up until the eighth, after fracturing his eye socket and leaving him unable to continue.

The Mexican elite stopped Caleb Plant, who bounced back with a KO of Anthony Dirrell, in his next fight, but has not won by stoppage in any of his six fights since.

Saunders defeated Eubank Jr. in 2014 for the British and European titles, handing Eubank his first ever loss.

Benn has revealed ahead of his own match with Benn that he has asked Saunders to be his representative overseeing Eubank’s hands being wrapped. Saunders has stated that he has accepted the offer to taunt his biggest rival.

Billy Joe Saunders defeated Joseph Parker’s world-class trainer in 2015

In 2015, Saunders faced Tyson Fury and Joseph Parker‘s trainer and former world champion Andy Lee, who Julio Cesar Chavez beat too, in a twelve-round contest in Manchester.

The fight was a close one, with Saunders scraping a majority decision win after dropping Lee twice in the third round.

Lee had just one fight since the loss and retired shortly after.
