Canelo Alvarez is one of the all-time greats in boxing and is about to become richer than he ever could have imagined with the contract he has signed.
The four-weight world champion is a global name in boxing, with 62 wins already to his name in a fantastic career.
However, Canelo Alvarez’s next 5 fights will be his most lucrative, thanks to the deal he inked to fight in Saudi Arabia for the next two years.

Canelo Alvarez signed a lucrative 5-fight deal with Riyadh Season
On February 7th, 2025, Canelo signed a contract with Turki Al-Sheikh and Riyadh Season to promote his next 5 fights.
While initially reported as a 4-fight deal, Canelo has signed a 5-fight deal with the Saudi Arabian company. The first 4 will take place in Saudi Arabia, with a fifth scheduled to take place in the United States.
The Mexican’s first match of the deal will be his bout with William Scull, which takes place on May 3 in Saudi Arabia. For competing in the fight, Canelo will earn the biggest payday of his career so far.
The contract Canelo signed with Riyadh Season is even bigger than the reported $365 million deal he agreed with DAZN in 2018.
According to Mexican broadcaster MVS Deportes (as reported by Marca), Canelo will be paid $80 million per fight, with a total payment of $400 million for the Mexican by the end of 2026.
However, this is still below the biggest per-fight deal in boxing history. When Floyd Mayweather knocked out Conor McGregor in 2017, the undefeated champion reportedly bagged $300 million.
What is Canelo’s next fight in Saudi Arabia?
After he faces Scull, Canelo has a number of potential suitors lined up to face him as part of his 4-fight contract with Al-Sheikh and Riyadh Season.
A bout with Terence Crawford looks a likely second fight in his deal. Crawford vs Canelo is reportedly set to take place in September as part of the Riyadh Season boxing card.
This is expected to be the one US match of the deal, taking place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. A fight between Canelo and Chris Eubank Jr has also been teased and is likely to take place in Saudi Arabia.
However, one that won’t be a part of the deal is Canelo vs Jake Paul. It looked like a deal for that bout to be streamed on Netflix was going to be completed, but the Mexican signed his deal with Al-Sheikh, ending any chance of a fight with the YouTube star.
