Canelo Alvarez destroyed Amir Khan with a massive punch

On May 7, 2016, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, Canelo Alvarez and Amir Khan went head-to-head for the WBC middleweight championship.

And while the Brit was a monumental underdog, it was clear from the first bell that he was very much intent on causing the upset.

In the first round, Khan started to cause problems for his opponent, unleashing his lightning-quick punches, with a solid right hand landing on the target.

During the second segment, the Englishman began to get a gauge on his rival’s timing, making him miss wildly, before landing jabs of his own.

By the third and fourth rounds, Khan was in full flow, landing with ease and convincing the fans that he was about to produce something truly special.

However, in the fifth, there were signs that Canelo was beginning to solve the puzzle, and by the sixth, he finished the Rubik’s Cube once and for all, detonating a devastating right hand that left Khan flat on the canvas.
