Canelo Alvarez has only ever lost to the very best in his breathtaking 20-year career.
Floyd Mayweather and Dmitry Bivol are the only men who can claim to have been able to outbox the Mexican in the ring, while dozens of others have failed.
Alvarez has broken eye sockets on his way to becoming one of the greatest middleweight boxers of all time, as he currently boasts a 62-2-2 record.
However, with 39 knockouts, Alvarez has by no means been a boring fighter throughout his career.
Some of his finishes have been brutal, including a body shot knockout he earned as a title challenger.

Canelo Alvarez earned super welterweight title with incredible bodywork
In 2016, Alvarez had just defeated Amir Khan via knockout to defend his WBC World Middleweight title, stopping the British fighter in the sixth round.
However, Alvarez would compete for another world title just four months later, as he had Liam Smith in his sights.
Englishman Smith had just defended the WBO World Super Welterweight title three months before fighting Alvarez in September 2016, however, he would lose his belt.
It would be a largely one-sided fight for as long as it lasted, as Alvarez had an incredible performance.
Working the body throughout the fight, the accumulation of damage from Alvarez began to get too much for Smith.
The seventh round would see Smith crumble to a right hook before a body punch put him down again a round later. Then, in the ninth round, a huge punch to the midsection would mean Smith was unable to continue.
Before the fight, Smith had never suffered a knockdown. However, three shots from Alvarez would spoil his record.
Canelo Alvarez became the first man to defeat Liam Smith’s brother
Not only was Alvarez the first man to defeat Liam Smith, but he was also the first fighter to best his brother, Callum Smith.
Meeting in 2020 for the vacant WBC World Super Middleweight title, Alvarez would have a one-sided performance over ‘Mundo’.
The two fought in San Antonio in December of 2020, and the scorecards for the vacant title were heavily in favor of the Mexican.
To date the loss is only one of two that ‘Mundo’ has suffered, as Smith has only lost to Alvarez and Artur Beterbiev.
