Anthony Joshua’s opponent fruitlessly scrambled to get up after being folded with huge right hand

Anthony Joshua’s ring return has been delayed as the former world champion has been set back by an injury.

Anthony Joshua will return to the ring at the back end of this year, after suffering his most devastating loss yet at the hands of Daniel Dubois in Wembley Stadium.

Whilst Dubois is moving on to a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk in the iconic British stadium, Joshua is still planning his return, with no opponent mentioned.

Fans are left wondering what Joshua has left to give in the sport, and whether he has what it takes to return to the top. Others are just hopeful for an Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury mega-fight, though it seems to many the days of a ferocious and unstoppable Joshua are far behind us now.

Anthony Joshua moved to 12-0 with a perfect right hand that left his opponent sprawled on the canvas

In 2015, 11-0 Joshua took on 36-10-1 Raphael Zumbano in Birmingham, England.

Zumbano was never expected to win, but with 47 fights and experience in the ring with Charles Martin, Eric Molina, and even Shannon Briggs, it was unclear how quickly the fight might end.

Joshua soon gave the answer, as he stopped Zumbano in the second round with a horrific punch-perfect right hand that left Zumbano unable to move falling to the canvas as he tried to stand up and beat the count.

At the time, only three of Zumbano’s losses had come from knockouts, with all of them coming in the final round of the fight.

Zumbano went on to face Andy Ruiz, Otto Wallin, and Filip Hrgovic, with Hrgovic being the only one of the three to one-up Joshua with a first-round KO.

Anthony Joshua defeated ‘Big Bang’ boogeyman for Olympic honor

In 2012, Joshua faced Zhilei Zhang in the London Olympic quarter-finals in an exciting heavyweight bout which saw Joshua drop ‘Big Bang’ Zhang on his way to a points victory, and a guaranteed medal.

Zhang went home without a medal, but has since built an impressive pro career, stopping Joe Joyce and Deontay Wilder, as well as dropping Joseph Parker.

Zhang most recently lost to Agit Kabayel in the first stoppage defeat of his career.
