Anthony Joshua destroyed Alexander Povetkin

On September 22, 2018, Anthony Joshua went to war with Alexander Povetkin inside Wembley Stadium in London, UK.

Having previously held the WBA (Regular) world title, the Russian was determined to reclaim a piece of the heavyweight throne.

Blessed with tremendous skills, Povetkin started the better of the pair, quickly looking for his famous left hook that knocked out so many fighters over the years.

At the end of the opening round, he found it, with Joshua stumbling across the ring and almost going down.

By the end of the second segment, the Brit’s nose was badly damaged, and the upset looked on the cards.

However, in a testament to his self-belief, Joshua refused to give up.

During the seventh round, he connected with a massive shot that rocked Povetkin to his core.

Realizing he had the veteran hurt, the powerhouse pounced, landing a right hand that sent his rival crashing towards the canvas.

Desperately trying to hang onto his dream, the challenger rose to his feet but was sent back toward the floor with another right hand, forcing the referee to jump in.
