Puerto Rican boxing star Amanda Serrano has proved herself to be one of boxing’s best talents in the modern game.
Serrano’s epic rivalry with Katie Taylor has helped to draw plenty of eyes to women’s boxing, as well as the sport as a whole. As Serrano and Taylor are set to have their third fight in July 2025, Serrano will seek revenge over the woman who has bested her twice.
However, before Serrano began her rivalry with Taylor, she was a dominant force. Although she fell short of her first world title opportunity, she claimed the WBO World Lightweight title in 2014. Two years later, she would add a second belt to her accolades.

Amanda Serrano became a two-division champion in 2016 against Olivia Gerula
After winning a world lightweight title against Maria Elena Maderna, Serrano would win her following five fights. This would set her record at 26-1-1.
Her impressive run would see her paired up with Olivia Gerula (17-15-2) as the pair fought for the vacant WBO World Featherweight title. The bout was contested in New York, in February 2016.
A 27-year-old Serrano would be a much better fighter when facing the Canadian. In the opening 20 seconds of the bout, the Puerto Rican would rock her opponent, who was given a count.
For the remainder of the round, Serrano would bombard her opponent with punches. Offering very little in return, Gerula was not able to survive the round.
In the final seconds of the bout, the referee would call off the bout, as Serrano claimed the title via TKO.
Amanda Serrano claimed a world super bantamweight belt later that year
After making one defense of her WBO World Featherweight title, Serrano would set her eyes on a third division.
Moving down again, she would take on Alexandra Lazar (8-1) in the super bantamweight division. Fighting in Puerto Rico, the two fought for the vacant WBO World Super Bantamweight title.
Extending her professional record to 30-1-1, Serrano would win the belt. She won the bout via first-round TKO, as she handed Lazar just her second loss.
At the time of writing, Serrano currently has a record of 47-3-1 and is a seven-division world champion.
