Adrien Broner boasts a record of 35-5-1, but he’s not called ‘The Problem’ for no reason.
Adrien Broner was an impressive amateur and amassed a record of 300 wins to only 19 losses.
‘The Problem’ started his professional career in the super featherweight division. His fourth fight was on the undercard of Ricky Hatton vs Paulie Malignaggi and foreshadowed his rise to becoming a four-division world champion.
Broner would rise in the ranks from super featherweight up to lightweight, before skipping super lightweight altogether and challenging Malignaggi for his WBA Regular welterweight belt.
He would end his career with only five losses, one at the hands of Manny Pacquiao, and another at the hands of Marcos Maidana, who knocked out Floyd Mayweather’s tooth and wore it as a necklace.

Adrien Broner took Paulie Malignaggi’s ‘side-piece’ and his world title
The fight was spurred on by an excessive amount of trash talk in its build-up, and despite the fact Broner was moving up in weight to face Malignaggi it was the world champion who was the underdog on the night.
‘The Problem’ is no stranger to trash-talk, and has had a longstanding beef with former friend Floyd Mayweather after Mayweather criticised one of his performances.
Broner entered the ring with an undefeated 26-0 record, whilst Malignaggi held 32 wins and 4 losses.
Broner defeated Malignaggi by split decision, and initially, he showed respect for his opponent after the fight, stating: “He’s a world-class fighter, and I respect him.”
He did, however, follow this up by exclaiming: “I beat Paulie. I left with his belt and his girl.”
Now a commentator, Malignaggi, who slammed the upcoming Tank vs Lamont Roach fight, took issue with Broner’s words, and shouted: “Don’t brag about taking my side-piece, that’s my side-piece!”
Adrien Broner shows off missing teeth after final fight
Plagued by inactivity, with only one fight a year since 2017, and zero fights in 2020 or 2022, Broner returned to the ring in 2024, his last fight had seen him win on points against 20-2-4 Bill Hutchinson.
Broner headlined in Hollywood against Blair Cobbs, a 16-1-1 boxer who had lost only to Alexis Rocha, and, looking a shadow of his prime self, lost to Cobbs on points.
At one point Broner was knocked down, and the commentators can be heard saying: “They picked up a tooth off the canvas […] Adrien ‘The Problem’ Broner has one less tooth now than he began the night with.”
Following the event, Broner showed off his injury, which required dental work.
