Adonis Stevenson was ruthlessly knocked out by a journeyman who’d won less than half of his fights.
In his sparkling career, ‘Superman’ proved himself as one of the most terrifying punchers of all-time.
Stevenson savagely finished Tony Bellew in a magnificent performance and stopped Chad Dawson inside the first round to claim the WBC and Ring Magazine light heavyweight world titles.
However, early in his career, he overestimated his own power and was made to pay.

Adonis Stevenson got brutally knocked out by Darnell Boone
On April 16, 2010, Adonis Stevenson flew out to Salisbury, Maryland, USA, to make his eagerly anticipated American debut.
Alas, things went drastically wrong.
Stevenson took on journeyman, Darnell Boone, who was significantly better than his 16-15-2 record suggested.
As expected, the future world champion came out quickly and knocked his rival down twice in the opening round.
With dynamite in his hands, Stevenson suspected that he was about to secure an early finish, and waltzed out in the second round with complete disregard for what was coming back at him.
In a moment of madness, Boone detonated an explosive right hand that sent the favorite tumbling toward the canvas.
A shocked Stevenson returned to his feet, but the referee deemed he was in no fit state to continue and waved off the contest.
While the icon would eventually win the rematch via sixth-round stoppage, fans will never forget what happened the first time around.
Darnell Boone dropped Andre Ward with a savage punch
Stevenson should’ve known how dangerous Boone was.
After all, this is a man who put Andre Ward on the canvas and came dangerously close to inflicting a defeat on the now Hall of Famer’s record.
The pair met back in 2005, and as always, the underdog didn’t enter the squared circle just to make up the numbers.
In a shocking turn of events, Boone dropped Ward with a huge uppercut.
