‘This is cringe’… KSI reignites Jake Paul feud with bizarre social media outburst at his long-time rival

The never-ending feud between YouTubers-turned-boxers KSI and Jake Paul rages on despite the pair’s anticipated fight seeming farther away than ever.

Paul and KSI began a storied rivalry in 2018 when the Brit called him out for a white collar boxing match, which ended up in the American beginning a career in the ring. But after twice beating Jake’s older brother Logan, KSI has been unable to make the grudge fight happen.

Even after befriending Logan and starting a massive beverage brand with his former foe, the feud between KSI and younger brother Jake has continued at pace. But with the American heading up in weight while his rival finds comfort lower down, the bout doesn’t appear to be coming any time soon.

KSI vs Jake Paul boxing fight in doubt after years of build-up

A fight between the two YouTube boxing legends is considered the holy grail of the influencer space, but hasn’t been all that close to happening. Before the coronavirus pandemic it appeared that Matchroom Boxing boss Eddie Hearn might make it happen as he faced the pair off after Paul’s January 2020 debut.

But since then Paul has taken to boxing full-time while KSI took a lengthy break where he became one of the UK’s biggest celebrities and music artists. He topped the charts on multiple occasions, only making his return to the ring in August of 2022 when he launched his own promotion Misfits Boxing.

However, despite claiming that his comeback was done to chase Paul out of boxing, KSI has seemingly been moving down in weight, going as low as 177.6lb for his May showdown with Joe Fournier. Meanwhile, Paul has been moving up and is now set to fight at heavyweight.

Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson confirmed for historic fight this July

All talks of KSI vs Jake Paul have had to take a back seat after the unbelievable announcement that the social media start would take on legendary former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.

Paul and Tyson will compete under an as-yet-unconfirmed ruleset, with the bout set to be broadcast as the first live sporting event on Netflix. They are pushing to have the bout confirmed as a full professional fight, although the heavyweight’s advanced age may put a stop to that idea.

Tyson will be 58 when he steps into the ring with Paul; his first fight since November of 2020 when he went the distance and drew with Roy Jones Jr. The social media sensation made his sophomore boxing outing on that card when he viciously knocked out Nate Robinson.

KSI takes aim at The Rock after post about Jake Paul’s fight with Mike Tyson

Jake Paul was spotted at WrestleMania supporting his brother Logan in his latest United States title defence against Kevin Owens and Randy Orton. While backstage, he ran into Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson who shared a photo showing the pair chopping it up.

“Good to finally meet you brother at #WrestleMania,” Johnson wrote, alongside an handshake emoji. “Looking forward to your fight with the GOAT. As we briefly chatted, you wouldn’t want it any other way. Can’t wait to watch.”

But KSI was unimpressed commenting “God this is cringe.” The post earned over 660,000 likes within less than a day, while the Brit’s jibe garnered a massive 3,600+ likes and became the top comment on the picture.
