Boxing fans are concerned about Ryan Garcia’s social media antics as the star continues to post worrying videos on X (Twitter) with just days to go until his fight with Devin Haney in New York.
The star boxer is a massive underdog heading into his bout with Haney, with odds widening in recent days as he continues to act out in a bizarre manner with fans online. He has been streaming daily on X Spaces, and engaging in a number of stunts as the fight draws closer.
Ryan Garcia continues erratic social media presence ahead of Devin Haney fight
Haney, on the other hand, has been quieter in the build-up and maintains a more muted presence through his channels. The pair have fought multiple times as amateurs, but this professional meeting for Haney’s WBC super-lightweight world title is a different animal altogether after years apart.

Garcia has made outlandish claims in the lead-up to the bout – invoking a number of conspiracy theories and offending may with his posting. Promoters and even the New York State Athletic Commission have voiced their concerns, but the bout will still go ahead.
However, he insists that he is simply unpopular due to his loudmouthed persona. “I’m underrated,” he told DAZN before the fight. “They hate me because I don’t shut my mouth and keep talking, but I’m going to keep doing it no matter what. At the end of the day, they just hate me.”
Ryan Garcia passed mandatory mental health evaluation before fighting Devin Haney
After he started acting strange online, the New York State Athletic Commission demanded that Garcia be evaluated for his mental fitness to fight. But he claims that he passed the evaluation in a chilling message to Haney at last week’s media workout.
“I’mma beat your a**,” he told Haney. “I guarantee you [April 20] it’s on. You thought I was not gonna make it to the fight. I bet you hoped that I pulled out. You bet you hoped that it was going to be some type of mental health issue. But, guess what? I’m right here.”
Garcia had previously slammed the commission for demanding such a test, arguing that he was having his right to free speech challenged.
Ryan Garcia proposes to adult film star whom he “just met” days before Devin Haney super-fight
In his latest social media stunt, Garcia shared a video showing himself on a private jet with adult film actress Savannah Bond. The footage is grainy and grey, but clearly shows him talking with his new girlfriend.
He can be seen making a speech about his being clean from drugs, before asking her if she will marry him, to which she replies “yes, sure”. They then kiss before the video is cut off.
Garcia shared the post with a caption which read: “SHE SAID YES! I’M SO HAPPY AND MOTIVATED GOING INTO MY FIGHT NOW LETS GOOOOOOO LETS GO FOREEAL SHES MY WIFE OR FUTURE WIFEY BUT STILL VERY VERY HAPPY EVERYONE HAVE A GREAT DAY SAV G.”
